Week 1
I've wanted to do this for a long time. But, seriously, 176 verses is a lot!
Last week, Josiah and I decided to do it.
There are 22 'sections' (about 7-10 verses each). We'll learn one section each week.
I'll also try to come up with an extra 'something' (for lack of a better word, of course!) for each section that we can do to apply the verses to our lives.
Week 2
"How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to Your Word. I seek You with all my heart; do not let me stray from Your commands. I have hidden Your word in my heart that I might not sin against You. Praise be to You, Oh Lord; teach me Your decrees. With my lips I recount all the laws that come from Your mouth. I rejoice in following Your statutes as one rejoices in great riches. I meditate on Your precepts and consider Your ways. I delight in Your decrees; I will not neglect Your Word."
Application (aren't you proud of me? I finally remembered the word I wanted...)
Think it through...apply it to your life!
- Are there areas in my life that are not pure or pleasing to God? What am I going to do about it? How are you going to truly live according to His Word this week? this month?
Look at all the
verbs:
- What are ways that I can actively know/seek God?
- How can I actively worship and rejoice in the Lord?
Hannah Zimmerman is an American girl who currently lives with her family in Tirana, Albania. She documented the process of her learning Psalm 119 (among other things) on her old blog Sequoia and Me which she has sadly deleted since. But you can still admire her beautiful photography on her other blog,
